Move Old Address Book to New Computer? (Outlook XP)

I am a blithering idiot . . . I cannot figure out how to copy my old address book off my old computer (running Windows 98 SE) and move it to my new computer (running Windows XP). Can someone please give me step-by-step instructions? Thank you.

Do you mean your "Address Book" or the contents of your Contacts folder?

In that case, what you're looking to do is move your PST file.

Do a search for files with the PST extension. Then (presuming you're upgrading to WinXP or Win2K) put the file in Documents and Settings[username]Local SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftOutlook on the target machine.

Add the PST file to Outlook by using File|Open|Outlook Data Source. (I don't have Outlook XP running, so I'm not sure whether the final menu choice is exactly right.) Copy the contents of the Contacts folder over, if necessary.

Finally, make sure that the (right-click) Properties for the Contacts folder has the "Show this folder as an Outlook Address Book" box checked.
