RUF greyed out (Word 2002 sp2)

Has anyone ever seen an instance of the Recently Used Files option being greyed out where policies were not being applied?

Perhaps the Data key in the registry has become corrupted. Take a look at Phil Rabichow's <!post=Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word (97/2000),197827>Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word (97/2000)<!/post>, in particular the fourth step (deleting the Data key).

I found the answer. We have an XP GPO that keeps recently opened documents off the Start Menu, and all 2k certified apps must adhere to that setting. Makes sense! <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23>

Given the original statement that "policies were not being applied? " we had very little chance of guessing that this was caused by a GPO (Group Policy Object)
