    Color Categorizing Tasks... (2002)

    Hi,

The attached scrn. shot shows a Project Plan made in Excel where each

section of duty is colour coded. What sort of system is available in MSProject 2002 for making a similar categorization?

If I can't colour the background, what other techniques are recommended?

    Ta.

Whilst you can't colour the background of cells in the table (AFAIK) you CAN recolour the text of tasks (Format/Font...) and/or the task bars (Format/Bar...) as alternative techniques.

Another simple option is using graphical indicators. For example, insert a text or number field and insert a graphical indicator in it based on a calculation. Go to Tools, Customize fields, the very bottom will show graphical indicators. Insert as many graphical indicators as needed. This will at least show you the indicators based on the colors you select.
