I read the Help and the FAQs here...have selected a new avatar...but it won't showup on any of the Forums, but it does showup in my 'view profile' section.
I can see the avatars of the other members, why can't I see mine...I was able to do so before.

     ...NOW it shows up... *sheesh*

It takes a little bit of time for caches to get refreshed, as you found out. Nice userpic, and nice "duh2.gif", by the way, I like the way its toes wiggle!

    here's a larger size, if you like ... .
I had a hard time deciding what to change my userpic from the old one to a new one...this one is called 'teamwork'.

    Re: Avatar

I've seen the term avatar used in other forums, but it's always been userpic in this one.

I find it amusing how the internet can hijack words which mean something totally different.

    From www.hyperdictionary.com

Definition:

    1. [n] the manifestation of a Hindu deity (especially Vishnu) in human or superhuman or animal form; "the Buddha is considered an avatar of the god Vishnu"
    2. [n] a new personification of a familiar idea; "the embodiment of hope"; "the incarnation of evil"; "the very avatar of cunning"

"Icon" originally had a religious significance, and was hijacked by, um, well whoever really came up with the GUI. I suppose we all still worship Icons, but now they are the ones on the monitor that we pray to. I definitely worship the Undo Icon!
