    Table: Lock Cells (Word 2000/XP)

Is there a way... to lock the cells in a table so when the user tabs it skips the locked cell and goes to the next open cell?

Could you insert an Excel table in the document? This is the kind of thing Excel is much better at than Word...

You could protect the entire section for forms and put text form fields in the cells where the user is supposed to type.

I think a better way to do this is with a dialogue box prompting for information to be filled in which is then assigned to a corresponding variable. Is there sample code for a simple dialogue box like this? if I can find one with 2 or three lines, I can modify it as necessary. Sample prompts are (with underline for the box to enter text):

    Job No.: _______________
    Dictation Date: _______________
    Dictatedy by: _______________

The variables are then inserted into corresponding document property fields. Also, if the variable already contains data, I want that data displayed in the box in case it needs editing.

See attached zipped document. It contains a UserForm that lets the user edit document variables. You can adapt it to your needs.
