    Profiles (Home Edition/SP1)

My comjputer was given to with XP on it. The person who loaded it put the name Test on as the Registration. I activated it under my name. Is there any way I can put it my name as the Registration? Also, I screwed up the Test profile with tweakUI so I could get in that way. My Tech finally was able to create a new profile. I am in that way. I see the old profie foder as well as my current profile folder and can see and use the test folder, but in my User accounts sheet., I only see the profie which I'm in. Both profiles have administrative privileges. Why?

    Harv,

Go to control panel>system>advanced>user Profiles>settings>profiles stored on this computer.. delete the old profile.

(you can assign admin to more than one user if you want)

Thanks, Bob. However when I deleted the 'Test' profile, my communications settings were gone. No probem, I reinstalled my setting, but it didn't find my network Card. After a few second of thinking I was doomed, I remembered system restore. That fixed that. I really don't understand profiles. It will be moot because soon I'll upgrade to Pro. Sys Restore may be the best feature of XP.

Don't know that going from "home" to "pro" will help you there much, unless you are going to do a clean install?

I'm going to Pro because I am a web designer and need the ability to use ASP and related technologies. I didn't know that Home had limited capacity. Thanks Bob. That other profile is the defaut apparantly.
