    Cannot save as HTML (97)

I'm trying to save a presentation as HTML. The wizard almost immediately aborts and tells me it cannot save it as HTML. If I elect to keep the files, only INDEX.HTM is saved. How do I troubleshoot this presentation?

An initial approach might be to make a copy of the presentation and start deleting things to see if you can identify a component that causes this. Maybe delete half the slides - save as HTML - if it works delete the other half and so on.

If you can get it down to one slide then start deleting objects from that slide.

If your lucky it will turn out to be a graphic or attachment that you can re-create.

I took the presetnation to a PowerPoint 2000 machine and it saved just fine; although, the resulting HTML is very different. So, I suspect the problem is something minor. The presentation has 71 slides with large graphics so I'm wondering if it's just too big.
