I'm having a couple of problems, I'm hoping someone can help me with.
A couple of weeks ago my pc starting doing weird things and as I've had it for a couple of years decided it was probably time to give it a good clean out. So I reformated the C partition of my HDD and did a completely new install of XP Home Edition. Then the problems started.
Now whenever I turn on my pc I get the following message:
System has recovered from a serious error. The error signature notes: BCCODE: 1A BCPI:00000781 BCP2: C03716 58 BCP3:00000000 BCP4: E2373E50 OSVER:5_1_2600 PRODUCT: 768_1
My second problem is, I used Windows Updated and needed to download Service Pack 1a, which I did after 7 hours of downloading only to have it come up with a corrupt error and refuse to install. So I downloaded it at work and burnt it onto CD, brought it home to install and basically received the same error.
Finally whenever I now try to install one of my kids games, they seem to install but then won't play.
I've now reformated and installed XP 3 times and am still having the same problems.
Could it be that I have an undetected virus or trojan in one of my other partitions?
Should I maybe format my whole HDD?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
