    Best Font (A2k)

    With the attachment, which would be the best font to use which would fill the entire field within the date range.
    Currently, when a date range is selected, a 1 is seen in the field instead of a filled square.

    The text boxes Date1 through Date31 on frmBookings are set to the BillPower font; this font is not present on your (and my) computer. So you must use another font that has a block character. On my PC, the 'g' character in the Webdings font works nicely. To try it, do the following (test it on a copy of the form or of the database):

    - Open the form in design view
    - Select the text boxes Date1 through Date31
    - Set the font to Webdings
    - Switch to the Visual Basic Editor.
    - Change the line<pre>"SET tblCrossTab.Date" & i & " = 1 " & _</pre>

    to<pre>"SET tblCrossTab.Date" & i & " = 'g' " & _</pre>

    in the module for frmBookings and in the module for frmGuests.

    Hans

    ( Nice find eh ! )
    I found the BillPower font, I just hadn't installed it.
    I think I would still like to use your method though, taking the fact that WingDings is a much more common font within the Windows environment.

    Hotel, B&B !! Definately not. I've got enough on my plate as it is.
    I'm not sure whether to implement this form, I had enough problems with the CourtesyCarPlanner, (Remember !!) but I'm tempted. <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

    Fancy having a go at changing this to "GetDailyAttributes" so the form scrolls by days instead of months ?

    <pre>Private Function MonthlyAttributes()
    Dim strSQL As String, i As Integer, datCurrent As Date
    Dim intDaysInMonth As Integer
    On Error Resume Next
    DoCmd.Echo False
    intDaysInMonth = Day(DateAdd("m", 1, gdate - Day(gdate) + 1) - 1)
    datCurrent = gdate - Day(gdate) + 1
    Me!txtStartDate = datCurrent
    Me!txtEndDate = DateAdd("m", 1, gdate - Day(gdate) + 1) - 1
    Me!comPreviousMonth.Caption = "<< " & Format(DateAdd("m", -1, datCurrent), "mmmm")
    Me!comNextMonth.Caption = Format(DateAdd("m", 1, datCurrent), "mmmm") & " >>"
    Me.RecordSource = "tblCrossTabTemplate"
    DoCmd.SetWarnings False
    DoCmd.CopyObject , "tblCrossTab", acTable, "tblCrossTabTemplate"
    For i = 1 To intDaysInMonth
    strSQL = "UPDATE tblCrossTab INNER JOIN qryGetBookings ON " & _
    "tblCrossTab.RoomNo = qryGetBookings.RoomNo " & _
    "SET tblCrossTab.Date" & i & " = 1 " & _
    "WHERE (((BookingDate)=#" & Format(datCurrent, "mm/dd/yy") & "#));"
    datCurrent = DateAdd("d", 1, datCurrent)
    DoCmd.RunSQL (strSQL)
    Next i
    DoCmd.SetWarnings True
    Me.RecordSource = "tblCrossTab"
    For Each ctl In Me.Controls
    With ctl
    If IsNumeric(.Tag) And ctl.Visible = False Then
    ctl.Visible = True
    End If
    If IsNumeric(.Tag) And .Tag > intDaysInMonth Then
    ctl.Visible = False
    End If
    If .Tag = "A" Then
    ctl.Visible = True
    End If
    DefineWeekEnds
    End With
    Next ctl
    Me!lblMonth.Caption = Format(gdate, "mmmm yyyy")
    Screen.PreviousControl.SetFocus
    DoCmd.Echo True
    End Function</pre>

    Short and Sweet ???

    I can't believe how quick this form is compared to what I've been designing over the last few months.
    I've just added 200 extra rooms and it is unbelievably quick. <img src=/S/sigh.gif border=0 alt=sigh width=15 height=15>

    Adding the ability to scroll by day instead of by month would involve a major rewrite of the code, it's not a matter of changing 'month' to 'day' here and there. Is it essential that you can scroll by day?

    Hans
    I had chance to study the code yesterday and realised, the month routine only creates an array of dates around GDate.
    To create the Day Array, we would have to look further than the current month.

    It would be useful to scroll by day, but I still have to make that decision whether to rewrite what I've already done and secondly whether to use this form.

    Its up to you. If you feel like attempting this, then yes I would be greatful, but if you feel it's too time consuming, then thats ok, I already have my system working.

    I think it would take too much time. I might look into it in a spare moment, but don't expect anything.
