    denoting tables (2000)

Hi, I have this dlookup code, Me.polt = DLookup("[Type of contract]", "tbl_Contracts", "[ID] = Forms![Main Form]![question subform]![contract] "). me.polt is a hidden control on my form, rather than have the control at the beginning of the code how can I have it so the the field in a given table is before the = instead of me.polt. Example if a field is called name in table people how would I a code
    tablepeople, field name = DLookup("[Type of contract]", "tbl_Contracts", "[ID] = Forms![Main Form]![question subform]![contract] ")

    Thank you Darren.

Can you explain where this code is used and what you want to accomplish with it, please? Thanks in advance.

This appears to be a virtual duplicate of the question asked in <post#=304702>post 304702</post#>, so I'm locking this thread. Post replies to the referenced thread instead.
