Insertion Point after Signature (2002, sp2)

Does anyone know what would cause the insertion point to position after the signature when tabbing from the Subject box? If there is no signature, the insertion point will be at the top of the message window; when the signature is inserted there are several blank lines at the top, like normal, but the insertion point starts after the signature. TIA

My understanding is that the cursor goes to the end of the used text area - which would be after the signature (if it is being used). This means you have to press Ctrl +Home before starting to write the message.

For most users, the signature is placed about two lines below, and then the cursor automatically tabs to this spot. For one user, it isgnores the blank area and positions at the end. This is not the normal behavior.

If all users are using Word as their e-mail editor, the oddball set-up may have something to do with a Word configuration. OTOH, you may be following Woody's advice and not using Word as e-mail editor.

You're right--Word is not the e-mail editor; but they're using HTML format and fancy wallpapers, downloaded emoticons, if you think that might have some effect.

I wouldn't be at all surprised - even if someone hasn't (knowingly) tinkered with the HTML code in their own stationery.

FWIW, in OL2002 and Ol2003 Word is an excellent editor. It was worse than bad in Outlook 97/97 and was so-so in 2000, but is well worth trying in Ol2002/3 - and the only reason not to use it is if you don't like the extra features it adds. In fact, everyone's favorite Outlook expert Sue Mosher uses Word as her email editor now.

I must admit to swinging back and forth between using WordMail. It could be the case that, if you're a very heavy and extremely advanced user of Word <ahem>, there might be some unforeseen side-effects on WordMail.

What does my weight and age have to do with it? <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
