Protect Part of a Document (Office 2000 SP3)

How do you protect part of a document? Actually, I only want to protect one form field. Word's HELP doesn't help at all.

You must put the part you want to protect in its own section, by inserting section breaks at the appropriate places. Continuous section breaks are usually best for this, but you can use next page/even page/odd page section breaks as well.
When you have done so, select Tools | Protect Document...
Select the Forms option, then click Sections...
Clear the check box for all sections you want to be editable, then click OK.
