Installing Pub 2002 in Win XP and Office 2003 (2002)

Just got a new Dell with Office 2003 small business edition. Have Publisher 2002 separate CD-Rom. Had it installed on my Win 98 and Office 97 and experienced some problems. Want to know if anyone has any experience with Pub 2002 install into a Office 2003 system?
Don't want to screw up my new Dell, dude! Help!!
    Thanks in advance.

<img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Congratulations on your new computer! I have just installed Publisher 98 (the whole disc which is huge) onto a recently purchased Dell 8200 desktop running XP Pro, its working just fine and dandy. I doubt loading Publisher 2002 onto your new machine will cause problems, if it does you can always uninstall it, or do a system restore to a previous date which puts your system back where it was before you loaded it. I would surely give it a go, Publisher is a good prog to have.

I also have a new Dell Desktop running Windows XP. I installed Publisher 2002 and haven't had a single problem in the three weeks I've been using it.
Trying to get used to Windows XP is another question!

I have read that in general it's best to install older Office software first, and then add the newer versions. I don't think you're going to have any problems, especially with Publisher, which is kind of a standalone, and I would go ahead and install it into the mix. If you feel like you are having compatability problems, uninstall Office 2003 and Pub and then re-install in the order oldest to newest. (I don't think you'll have to do it, though)

have fun. I just installed the "real" 2003 after using the beta for months. It's even faster! You'll love it!
