    Outbak.dll (OL XP)

I stalled Office XP used Windows XP - no installation problem, I have done ot many times.

When opening Outlook, a windows tells me:

    >>Coduments and SettingsMy NameApp DataMSAddinsD:MSOffice 10Addinsoubak.dll
is not a valid Office add-in<<

-a HD search does not turn up any such file
    -un/re-installing Outook did not help
    -Un/re-installing Office did not help

What does this flag want to tell me? How do I gert rid if it?

    Many thanks.

    Re: Outbak.dll (OL XP)

Try this (menus from OL 2000, but should be close enough). Under Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options | COM Add-Ins UNcheck any reference to PST Backup (can't remember the exact name), OK out, close and restart Outlook. If this is the problem, I'm puzzled that it didn't clear when you reinstalled, so Post back if this doesn't help.

John - thanks so much for responding to my plea for help!

A couple of hours ago I managed to get rid of the problem by cleaning out the registry of all office entries completely - uninstalling did not do the trick.

    Thank again!
