Saving a picture from Word (Word 2000)

I have been sent a document with several pictures inserted into it, (Word doc), have been trying to save the pictures off the document into my picture program, anyone know if this can be done? Thank you.

Once you insert a picture into Word, it's difficult to get it out in a usable format. It's always best if you think you might want to edit the image to save it as a file first and then insert it into Word. If you forgot, one way to extract images is to save the DOC file as a web page, then sort through the resulting nest of files for high quality .PNG images. These typically have all the fidelity of a BMP with good compression, but unfortunately few older programs will edit them (in Windows XP, Paint is finally PNG aware).

Thanks Hans, Ive been playing around for ages trying to get these images out but no luck. Now I see its not so easy to do. I will give your suggestion a shot, but doubt I will make a success of it. Thank you for your help Hans, kind of you to respond so fast. :-)

If that didn't work, you could try selecting them and choosing copy, then pasting into Paint or MS Photo Editor or your choice of image editor. You might need to size them to 100% x 100% first.
