    Quicklaunch bar

    Hello,

I am having trouble with getting the Quicklaunch toolbar icons to copy to new profiles. Is there a trick?

For example, I set up a new machine, create the icons I want, copy them to the All Users profile, then log in as a new user, and I get the default QL icons.

    A Quick Launch folder under All Users is ignored <img src=/S/sad.gif border=0 alt=sad width=15 height=15>

You can create Quick Launch toolbar items for new users in Cocuments and SettingsDefault UserApplication DataMicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick Launch. For existing users, you'd have to copy items to their Cocuments and Settings<UserName>Application DataMicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick Launch folder. Perhaps a script could be used for this, or a policy, but I don't know anything about that.

There doesn't seem to be anything in the Group Policy snap-in or in the Microsoft Management Console Help for this. As you say, a script for Default User - or possibly Norton Ghost - could do this.
