Word 2003 Help not available in VB 6 (Office 2003 and VB 6)

In a Win 2000 system, among other things, the following are installed:

    1. VB 6 Enterprise.
    2. MSDN October 2001 Library
    3. Office 2003 Professional
    4. VS .NET 2003 Professional.

A few daze ago, for the first time, I tried Automating Word 2003 from VB 6.
    No problem with code running.

However, when I highlighted a VBA statement, and hit F1, or enter, say,
Collapse, in the object browser, I get a message that says "Unable to
    display Help".

I realize that the MSDN Oct 2001 library has nothing for Office 2003.
How can I get VB 6 to display Help for Office 2003 critters?
The critters get listed in the object browser, but no help can be obtained

I always wondered how the VBE for Office knew which help file to call up. I suspect it's related to the type library keys in the registry, but I haven't dug around. I don't have VB6 on this computer.

There is a HelpFiles key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftVisual Basic6.0 that contains the names of the helpfiles associated with VB6.

VBE for Office has nothing to do with it.
When automaing Word from VB 6, VB requires a reference to the Word library.

    THe reference is there.
The object browser shows the Word thingees.
But using F1 or asking for help within the object browser doesmn't work for Word thingees.

Those are the help files that are part of VB.
    That's not the problem.

The Word object library is asdded as a reference, which should make the Word VBA help available,

The problem is likely that VB 6 is tied to the MSDN Oct 2001 library, the last MSDN library for VB 6, and that has no knowledge of Office 2003.

I expect that the installation of VS .NET 2003 is somehow blocking access to the Office 2003 stuff because post Oct 2001, MSDN had a different format that does not work with VB 6.

A better test might be for someone who has VB 6 and Office 2003, but not VS .NET.

Worst case, I'd have to run Word at the same time I was working in VB 6 just to look at the Help.

Seems like a bug to me.

I think you missed my point but I'll leave you to your own devices.
