Global Auto Archive (Outlook 2000 SR-1)

    Hi Folks

Is there any way of changing the auto archive settings for a folder and ALL of it's sub-folders? Also.... is there anyway of setting Outlook up so that any new sub-folders inherits the auto archive settings associated with it's parent folder? Oh yes and.... Can you force auto archive to run? (i.e. Start it manually..)

    Regards
    Peter

I don't know if it is possible to apply settings to a folder and its subfolders, but you can change the settings for all folders at once:
    - Select Tools | Options...
    - Activate the Other tab.
    - Click the AutoArchive button.
    - The dialog contains a button to apply the settings to all folders.

The File | Archive... dialog contains an option to archive all folders according to the AutoArchive settings.

Hans, I don't see where Folder-specific Archive properties are available under the MAPIFolder object .. can you get to them in XP, or am I looking at the wrong object?

Archiving properties are not exposed in either the Outlook object model, CDO or Extended MAPI. There is some information on CDOLive.com: Tips and Tricks (search for archive).
