    Do you have 'Active Desktop' running?

    When ever I open 'Windows explorer' in Windows 98, Me, and 2000, the drives are closed. I am using a 'Classic" style of Explorer.

    Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Hi Ralph:

    1. On the desktop, right click & choose New/Shortcut.

    2. Use the following line as the command line:

    C:WINDOWSEXPLORER.EXE /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

    3. Click Finish.

    4. Enter the following into the target area on the shortcut tab:

    C:WINDOWSEXPLORER.EXE /n,/e,/select,c:

    If you want the desktop selected with nothing expanded, use this in the target area:

    C:WindowsExplorer.exe /n,/e,/root,,/select,C:

    Hope this helps.
