Reinstall Office XP (Office XP Pro)

I have Office 2003 but wish to reinstall PowerPoint from my Office XP Pro disc on to a second drive ( as a compression utility I use to shrink PP files is not compatible with 2003).
I have a full independently purchased version of XP Pro (not OEM) but during installation receive a message that a qualifying version of Office cannot be found on the machine. I had replaced Office 97 with XP Pro.
Would appreciate any suggestions on a workaround.

Is the XP Pro an upgrade. If so, you need the CD that had the 97 version (whether OEM or not). Also, you should install the older version FIRST & then install the newer versions, even though you install on a different drive.
    Hope this helps,
