alternative to word's compare documents utility (Word 97)

    Hi --

Word's document compare utility just doesn't catch all the differences between two versions of my document. The doc is just under 200 pg long and has a ton of tables. From a MS KB article on the subject, it doesn't look like there's any way to make this work.

I'm looking for a third party differencing utility. So far, all I've found is Workshare Delta View but at $3500, it's waaay out of my price range. Are there other utilities out there that are affordable and that will actually catch the differences? For that matter, is there any way to make the built-in utility work?

    Thanks
