Can't Right-click on items in Start Menu (SP-1 (Home))

I have a Windows XP home machine. When I right-click on any of items under the Start menu, I don't get the shortcut menu. It kind of flashes a bit, but nothing really happens. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Becky

Can you be a little more specific, I'm not sure that I understand the problem. Do you mean when you right click START? <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

I don't know if this will help, but it takes only a minute to check.

Can you still right-click the Start button or the Task Bar?
If so, select Properties, otherwise, select Start | Control Panel, Appearance, Task Bar and Start Menu
    Activate the Start Menu tab
    Click Customize...
    Activate the Advanced tab.
Scroll the list box almost all the way down.
Is "Enable dragging and dropping" checked?
If not, this may be the cause; tick the check box and click OK.

Enable Dragging and Dropping was the problem. I could right-click on the Start menu and taskbar...it was just anything under Start (like Programs and stuff) that I couldn't click on.

    Thank you!! <img src=/S/thumbup.gif border=0 alt=thumbup width=15 height=15>
