Slide Master Tweaking (PP2002)

    <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Loungers

After checking the lounge for any messages dealing with Slide Master, and not finding any, I need some help understanding the Slide Master's componets.

When I open the Slide Master, I see the components of it:

    a) I need to have the Number of the Slide in the lower right hand corner, something like Slide 1 of 100. It would be ideal if this number can be generated as I add new slides.

I need to have the same header and footer on all slides, so that my presentation will look uniform. Do I do this on the Slide Master, or simply copy and paste from the previous slide?

    c) How can I freely position these components without having to deal with the Grid system. I am having a rough time, just having these items, the page number and the Copyright notice, and the date to be all the way at the bottom of the screen, so that I can have the maximum screen area for the sides info.

    TIA

    Wassim

    a) View/Headers and Footers. Check to include slide number.

View/Headers and Footers. Insert your text there. Alternatively, simply type the text in on the slide master (and title master). It will be included on all new slides automatically.

    c) Ctrl+G and turn off Snap to Grid. You can then position your items with more precision.

    Wassim:

If you hold down the Alt key when dragging an object this reverses the current Snap to Grid setting, so if Snap is on, an Alt-Drag will allow you to position an object precisely.
