    Import From Eudora (Outlook 2002)

I am running A windows XP sp 1 machine with Outlook 2002 all updates applied. When I try to import mail & address from Eudora Pro 6.0 into Outlook I get the folowwing msg. "The mail folder could not be opened. If another application is using this file please close it & try again." The Eudora e-mail client works fine but I am synching to an Ipaq and everytime I use eudora I have to reboot the machine to get it to recognize the IPAQ hence the need to switch all my e-mail to Outlook.
    Thanks

I assume that this means that you must close Eudora and any Eudora windows before you can import the file into Outlook.

No matter how much info I post, I allways seem to leave something out. Eudora is closed when I get this message.

Why not export from Eudora to a spreadsheet or text file and then import that?
Just because you closed the program, it may not have closed. If you check, Outlook may not shutdown for several minutes. When I have my Pocket PC on and in the cradle, Outlook is running in the background.

The address book I can export. I was wanting the e-mail too. This error happens even if Eudora has not been opened & wether or not the IPAQ is in it's cradle.

I don't know Eudora, but I think Dave is on the right track. A related question is, are you using any other program, such as an IM, which might use the file in question?

Open task manager and make sure Eudira is not running, if it is, select it and select the "End Process" button.
