    Format of envelope

When I use the envelope button with a letter in Word my default Normal font of Times Roman is changed/not used. I have found no way to correct. I have tried Default etc. I can change it in the box but it does not keep. I have Offfice 2ooo and W98. Help appreciated.

    Re: Format of envelope

I use Word 97 but it is probably the same - you need to set the style called "Envelope Address" to be the font/style you want. I'd also set "Envelope Return" while you're at it.

    Cheers,

Thnaks for the suggestion, but...I look under Format/Style/Envelope and it defines Times Roman, but does not use it. I am still stumped. Directions to fix are appreciated.

In Word 2000 there are two styles used by the Envelope wizard:

    Re: Format of envelope

    Ok, try this ...

When you have the Envelopes and Labels dialog up,
    Select "Options ..."
Click "Font ..." under delivery address
Change to the font you want
Then click on the "Default ..." button down the bottom left.
    You should be asked:
"Do you want to change the default envelope address font to <whatever>?
    This will change the Normal.DOT?

Answer Yes, and of course, to make it stick, you will have to save the changes to Normal.

Hope this Word 97 instruction works for you in W2000.

    Cheers,
    Margaret
