    Timeline Software

Does anyone know of a good software package for making a timeline? We have used Excel in the past, but the timeline that we need to create has 50+ entries.

    Thanks,
    Becky

    Microsoft Project?
Otherwise, searching Google for Free Timeline Software yields lots of hits.

    Re: Timeline Software

Unfortunately, Project can't do what we need. See the attached file for a very simple version of what we need the timeline to look like. It looks like Project can only block out portions of time to show it as used. I may be wrong, but Project didn't seem to have anything like what we are looking for.

    Thank you,
    Becky

IMHO the font you're using in the headline (Algerian) is the most horrible font in the known universe... I have resolved never, ever, to buy anything from a shop which uses that font in its advertising. It's awful - a typographical abomination! Even Comic Sans would be better!

PS I don't think much of it, as you may have guessed!

PPS You have a child which takes no more than ten minutes to get dressed?! No doubt this is a fantasy?

Actually, I stole that picture from Microsoft's website http://www.microsoft.com/education/?ID=CreateTimeline just as a very basic example of what it should look like. What we really need it for is "privileged and confidential" so I couldn't post a real example.

    I guess you don't own a single Microsoft application, then do you? <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

PS What does IMHO stand for?

Sorry, I thought you were writing a Children's Book! Children should not be exposed to the horror of Algerian...

IMHO means In My Humble Opinion (usually used, except in this instance, when the writer's opinion is not even a little bit humble!).

(And I still love your Shaun the Sheep!).

Long time since I looked, but I think the Outlook Journal has a timeline. Don't know if you can use it to insert any old entries you like.

How about Visio? It comes in several flavors, perhaps one of them can draw a timeline to some sort of scale.

Last hope: PowerPoint. Yeah, it's not going to fit on one slide...

If you're having problems with TLAs check Chat Abreviations.

    HTH <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

BTW IMHO can also mean In My Honest Opinion. For those who don't want to be humble. <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15>
