    Access Snapviewer (2002)

Snapview has suddenly started to cause an invalid page fault in the kernal32.dll when opening *.snp file. I have tried removing all of the TSR programs and still get an invalid page fault when trying to open any *.snp file. I can open the Snapview program without any problem.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

I apologize that you haven't got a reply to your question. I have tried to find something relevant, but failed.

This is strictly a shot in the dark, but I would guess that something has corrupted a piece of the SnapShot Viewer program, and that you may need to run a repair on your Office installation. You don't indicate what OS you are running, but if it is WinME or Win98, I would run a serious disk check to make sure you don't have hardware misbehaving. One other possibility is that some new software has clobbered something or replaced a DLL that it should not have - those are really hard to find.

For clarity, do you get the error if you double click a .snp file in Explorer, and do you also get the same error when you do a file/open in the SnapView program <img src=/S/question.gif border=0 alt=question width=15 height=15>

    Re: Access Snapviewer (2002)

I apologize for the lack of information. I have run the repair and have also uninstalled ad reinstalled Access again. Neither of which seemed to help. I have managed since I posted this to get it to load a Snapshot from a different Database one time, then it went back to Illegal operation again. Just a strange problem all together.

I had tried to open it from a running snapshot viewer and still get the illegal operation. This problem happens when trying to open an Email Attachment, from explorer, or even opening he Snapshot program and then using a file/open.

It is running on a Windows 98, these attachments do run on other computers. This is the only one experiencing this problem.

Once again any help would be appreciated.

    Rick
