    Perhaps, it is the fact that none of the original cards are in the list at the bottom.

    <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #000000; font-weight: bold"><font color=yellow>Simple: the set of five cards at the bottom is fixed and it is completely disjunct from the six cards at the top. So whatever card you take in mind, it won't be in the bottom set.

    It's confusing since all cards are 6's, 7's and 8's - you are seduced to assume that the set at the bottom is basically the same as the one at the top. Waiting for 20 seconds helps to muddle your memory of the set at the top.</font color=yellow></span hi>
