    Auto Complete (Office 2k & XP)

    Hi,
    Why is it on some spreadsheets, when I type text it will automatically "suggest" what I could be typing from an earlier typed cell and sometimes it doesn't. If I insert a row, it definitely doesn't, but sometimes when I just skip a row it doesn't suggest anything and other times it does.

    Generally, it reads from a contiguous cell directly above. That is, if there are any gaps between the active cell and a cell directly above where a word with the same beginning letters exists the suggestion will not be made. HTH
