Recordsets - book recommendations? (2000 XP)

I've just been introduced to using recordsets via Visual Basic. Having always just used bound controls in Access this is all a bit baffling.

Can anyone recommend any decent books for using recordsets, be that within access, vb or whatever?

Actually, on-line help has all sorts of examples of using recordsets. You'll have to be more specific, though. Are you talking about DAO or ADO recordsets? The code to use them is different. And are you using Access 2000 or Access 2002?

Most likely ADO and for the time being the database will be access (or XP with the version set to 2000).

I've had a look in help and been browsing the net for forums and newsgroups and come across things like "this is the best way" , "no- this is the best way" etc etc.

I was just wondering if anyone could recommended a book as an introduction to the subject, maybe with some decent tips or things to avoid.

Try Beginning Access 2002 VBA from WROX Press. It should still be available and it includes sections on both kinds of recordsets.

I second Charlotte's recommendation - it's one of the best at working you through both ADO and DAO. I also like Alison Balter's books for the practical knowledge and experience they include, and there is the Access Developer's Handbook for detailed, specific info.
