    Line charts again (2002)

Is there any way to prevent accidently changing the data on a line chart (and in the source data) if a point on the chart is altered? For example, someone is changing the color to a line and accidently moves a point on the line, which alters the data and point. Can this be prevented without protecting the workbook/worksheet (which won't allow for any changes)?

Excel 2002 has more options than previous versions when protecting a worksheet:

    Select all cells.
    Select Format | Cells...
    Activate theProtection tab.
Clear the Locked (?) check box.
    Click OK.
Select Tools | Protect | Protect Worksheet...
    Check all boxes except Objects.
    Click OK.
