cutting&pasting from a column to a row (XP)

I have a long list of numbers in column A. I would like to move them to row 1.
Cutting and pasting is not doing the trick. Is there a function or some other option that will accomplish this?
    Please see attchment below.

    Thanks much - Nancy

Have you tried Copy then Edit|Paste Special and check the Transpose box in the bottom right hand corner of the dialogue that then appears? HTH

    Use the TRANSPOSE excel function:

this is an ARRAY function which must be entered a little diferently:

    1. Select the row cells where you want the results to be
    2. Type =Transpose(Array) -- for Array select the verticle cells you want copied.
    3. HOLD DOWN the CTRL and SHIFT keys while you click on ENTER.
    4. You can now delete the original cells

Keep in mind that there are only 256 columns. When you say that you have a long list of numbers in your column, if this exceeds 256 you will lose the rest.

Thanks to you both for your help - I tried them both with equal success!
    Thanks again!
