    Windows Update problem

For the past 2 days many users of Win98 are reporting that Windows Update is not working correctly. It almost immediately goes from 0% to 100% -- and even though there is a new Critical Update released 11/1103, nothing show up.

Can anyone add support or refute this? I find in true on both of my boxes.

    Re: Windows Update problem

Mine just took perhaps a minute or less to check. I'm not sure which critical update I should be looking out for though. The one at the top of my list is:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (Windows 98, Windows Me)*
    Download size: 452 KB

I can't see a date associated with it (or any of them for that matter).

I waited a little too long to post this. It was apparently fixed earlier this PM... Nevermind!

    Re: Windows Update problem

They say some day it will be less buggy but who knows; maybe soon maybe 2005-6 v5 will be called "MS Update" supposedly consolidating their current 8 platforms that are used for updating-- to coincide with Win XP SP2 maybe soon, maybe 2005-6, who knows would apply to that as well.

I'm surprised you use it when you could use the Technet Security Bulletin service minus the endless glitches. It also appears that besides the "scrollbar bug" which is solved by ignoring the scrollbar menu, there are a couple others floating around:
