'Do you want to save the changes?' (XP)

Whenever I open certain Word documents, even if I do not make any changes whatsoever, the mere fact of my opening the document causes Word to ask upon closing the document, "Do you want to save the changes to [file name]"?

I am attaching one document as an example. Does anyone know why this illogic occurs? Thanks.

According to MSKB 816473, "This behavior may occur if you have Smart Tags turned on." See article:

WD2002: You Are Prompted to Save Changes When You Close a Document Even Though You Have Made No Changes

The article provides a suggested work around.
