    Rules not processed (Outlook 2003)

Facing the following problem: Rules to move emails after they got sent are neither processed by Outlook 2002 nor 2003. However, to save a copy in a certain folder after emails got sent works properly. Same applies to rules for incoming mail.

Do anybody have an idea how to solve this issue?

Is there a possibility to run all the defined rules manually without having to tick them individually?

Rules run in the order in which you have them arranged in your Rules Wizard? Is that interfering with your plans?

One possibility. Rules are finicky about any change in the target folders; if you have made any folder changes, or detached the PST which contains the folders, you may have to modify the rules to reset the referenced folders.

You cannot create a rule to move a message after it has been sent. There is no such rule available (at least, not in 2002 and earlier; I don't know about 2003). All you can do is put a copy in another folder - the original stays where it was originally put. The best way to handle this is to set the option to save replies with the original message. If you send many new messages to the same addressee, you can create a template with the 'Save sent message to' option set to the folder of your choice.

True, but if Tools | Options | E-mail Options | Save Copies of Messages in Sent Items Folder is UNchecked, the effect is the same, with some limitations.

That's only true if you have a rule that copies every message to some folder. Without that you will lose new messages (i.e., not replies) you send.

Even in Outlook 2002 you can create rules to move sent messages (but it doesn't work either). Such kind of rule cannot be created in the Rule Wizard but Outlook 2002 allows you to do so by clicking the Organize... icon.

The Organizer is referring to incoming messages, not outgoing messages. This is not clear, but it's true. See this thread (question 1) for further explanation.
