I am supporting 3 PCs (2-Win98SE, 1-WinXP SP1) running Office/Outlook 2000 SP-3 that are having the same issue. Outlook is configured in Corporate or Workgroup mode and is setup to remember the POP3 account password.

The users are using SBC Yahoo! DSL service and everything was functioning fine until about the time that they installed an update to the SBC Yahoo! DSL software, which they received an alert for them to do so. Ever since doing so, they sporadically receive the prompt for their POP3 account password. When they do get it, it continues to prompt them several times and then goes away...until the next time it occurs. I cannot simply remove the SBC Yahoo! DSL software (as much as I'd like to <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>) since they have gotten comfortable with it and are otherwise using the software.

The client has called both SBC Yahoo! DSL's and Microsoft's phone support techs...and each is blaming the other - with no recommended resolution. Does anyone have any ideas how I can solve this problem?
