Burning ISO image - how to verify?

Is this a hardware question? I downloaded a couple of ISO images from MSDN and burned them to CD-Rs using Roxio OEM at a "safe" speed of 10X. It completed happily, but is there any way to verify that the disc actually matches the image before I can the original files? I didn't see "verify" in any menu. Linux discussion boards suggest comparing the MD5 checksums for the ISO image and the CD. Duh... okay, but how? Thanks for any help.

Good old FC in a command prompt window?

For the future, Roxio offers an option to verify the files immediately after writing them to the CD - select File | Project Properties (or something like that), General tab.

Does this page from OpenOffice.org help you out?

Wow, I haven't run FC since I don't know when. But with 600MB of files split over zillions of folder, I think I might try the MD5 first and see if it's fast.

What's weird is that Roxio hardly gives you any options when burning an ISO image; it's not a project like the build-it-yourself ones. I saved "Verify...after..." as a default, and I'll see if it works next time. Thanks for noticing that option.

WINDIFF from any Resource Kit you like to name? For example, the XP Installation CD...
    <font face="Script MT Bold"><font color=blue><big><big>John</big></big></font color=blue></font face=script>

    Ita, esto, quidcumque...
