    New Search Window?

I use a Win2K system. In the past when I was in Windows Explorer and wanted to search for something I selected the folder I wanted to search from in the tree in the left pane and hit Control F. The Explorer window changed to search mode, I enter the search criterion, hit Search Now and it displayed the results in the right pane.

Yesterday I noticed that when I do this Windows pops up a "NEW" Explorer window in search mode with both my hard drives selected at the root, not the folder had selected.

I just installed MS03-048/049 security updates, is this a result of this update? If so, I don't like it. I liked the way it worked before.

    Thanks,
    Thanks,

    Re: New Search Window?

Interesting, I've discovered that this only happens if I'm in an Explorer window of a network drive started from a shortcut with

    C:WinntExplorer.exe /e, /root, <drive:target folder>

Everything else seems to work OK.
    Thanks,
