    Yipes!!
Ok. How big is the zip disk? Is it possible that the presentation would not actually fit on the disk?
I'd be worried about a presentation that big anyway. Is there a way you could split it into smaller separate files?

100 meg disk size. It may be large because quick save was used, I believe, however that would not cause it not to run. Help!!!

So there was enough room for the file. Well, I've never seen a zip disk fail - but this is what I'd imagine it would be like. I'm sorry - but I have no helpful suggestions. Unless you have a backup or previous version somewhere ... you're <img src=/S/cauldron.gif border=0 alt=cauldron width=20 height=20>

If there is a will I am sure there is a way--the problem I would like to see solve is andy slide in which a file is missing, load a blank slide and continue to load the rest of the presentation. If one or two files are missing, it kills the whole presentation?

Slides which contain files? I don't understand the relationship. Can you expand on what you've done?

Re: Part of the file is missing?

What I am saying, why doesn't PowerPoint open part of the presentation when a file is missing. It kills the entire slide show? Nothing can be salvage or get to it in any way--I have to rebuild it all over again?

It is a lot like wanting to open a word doc when part of the file is corrupted. You are unlikely to get anything and what you do get is often garbage. There is no guarantee after all that only Slide 1 is missing. It is more likely that it is Slide 1 + plus all the formatting info that makes the rest of the presentation make sense.

Hey, I've been poking around in the MS Knowledge base and came up with a relevant article <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q207/3/77.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=template&rnk=6&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn _SRCH&SPR=PPT2000>PPT2000: Troubleshooting Damaged Presentations on Windows</A>. Perhaps there is something in the article that will help. Let me know!

Re: Part of the file is missing?

Already tried it along with Brian's suggestion on the program advertised on Woody's webpage. No luck all around. The software repair simply locked up the machine or just stopped responding. I have sent an email with the file attached to see if they could help, but this vacation, I will be putting it all back together again. Moral of the story. BACKUP--even on a zip. Thanks for all your help--Woody's Lounge is a valuable resource--it's comforting knowing it is there.
