Vertically centering text within text boxes (WordXP)

I am unable to vertically center text within text boxes. If I right click on the text box, choose "Format Text Box", from the Layout tab I choose Advanced I can only align the text box within the page, but not the text within the text box.

    Hi Marie:
I use Word 2000, but I know of know direct way to center text vertically in a text box. Perhaps you could insert a 1 cell table within the text box, get rid of the borders (Alt+Ctrl+U), stretch the row boundaries to the text box boundaries, & then use table properties (or right click) to align the text vertically. Actually, you could use a table cell without a text box, but you have more wrapping options with a text box.
    Hope this helps,
