    Events not working when Word is email editor (Word 2002)

    I have a global template that contains a class module with a number of application events. This works perfectly except for those users who have chosen to enable word as their email editor.

    These users clearly have the global template loaded, as the toolbars and associated macros work correctly. None of the event procedures appear to work though. The only way I can get them to work is for the users to exit from outlook before starting word.

    Does anyone know how, or where, I can enable my application event procedures without the users having to exit from Outlook first?

    I think you have run into one of the major reasons for NOT using Word as ones email editor. I also remember that this is a known issue, that Outlook must be shut down and Word restarted for a lot of "Add-in"s to work.

    Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Does it work if they start Word before calling it from Outlook for the first time? If not, this is terrible.

    Yes, it works if I
    Start Word > Start Outlook > Exit Word > Restart Word

    But not if I
    Start Outlook > Start Word

    I would really like to find a better work around for my users, if anyone has any suggestions.

    A bit more playing shows that the really irritating Adobe 6 application event that puts their **** toolbar back up every time I switch document windows does manage to run under these circumstances. So it must be possible.
