Copying Calendar Entries (2k & XP)

    Hi all,

Is there a way that I can copy Calendar entries between 2 separate installations of Outlook? I run XP and my wife runs 2K (not on exchange server) and i want to be able to "send" via email some of my calendar entries. Sort of like "here is when I have meetings on etc" so I don't have to keep reminding her that "I'll be home after XX 'cause I've got this meeting on" sort of thing.

Is there a way I can send entries via email so that she can save these events to her Calendar?

    Thanks,

    Stuart

You can e-mail iCal or vCal format appointments. In Calendar view right click the appointment item, select Forward, and a message containing the vCal as an 'attachment' will be created. On an Open item, select Actions | Forward, same result, or Actions Forward as iCal for an iCal 'attachment'. The recipient of the mesage should be able to double click the item and add it to their calendar.

This will work best if you are both on the same version of outlook. the XP/03 ical format is not compatible with outlook2k or earlier, or most other mail clients. vcal is the least worrisome in general.

They are not incompatible, but there are some issues, fixed by long-available patches for both ol2000 and 2002.

True, but one can't count on the parties having the right SPs and HFs applied. Even on my home network I can't keep it straight <img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15> . Aiming at the least common denominator usually causes the least pain for everyone, and I'm alsays hoping to keep what hair I still have.
