Embedding images in a Eudora message (word97/eudor

The link below is to my best-yet source of code for using Word97/VBA to emit an email through Eudora. I'm almost there. I can compose and send the message unattended.

My remaining task is to embed a small image, probably a JPG file of about 12KB in the email.

The MAPI message, with which I'm slowly becoming familiar, doesn't appear to have a property that lets me install an image.

Has anyone out there/in here generated an email message from within VBA, with a JPG embedded within the body?

I have attached a small BAS module for those who would like to try my efforts to date. I'm currently using Eudora 6.0.1.1

You need to create a valid HTML body. Not sure whether you can simply throw an HTML page (string) at the body property, or whether you need to follow some RFCs on making it a separate part of the message (as you see when viewing a raw, RFC822 formatted message).

Ah! Right. The (text) body of the message will actually be a piece of HTML (as in ASCII text characters), and the HTML will be describing the image. Presumably Eudora 6.x is going to be smart enough to interpret the HTML and embed the image as the message goes out.

Thanks, I'll have a shot at this.

I have never done this, but I would expect someone to have to do MIME encoding of the text and the image, probably you.

A quick google for MIME Create API Eudora turns up sites such as http://www.eudora.com/developers/emsapi/SDK.html
