    Text Size (6.0.2800...)

I set the IE text size for smaller and it stays that way for a while, but it keeps reverting back to medium. Is there something wrong here? What can I do to make that stick? Thanks, J

Make sure that the last window that you close when you exit IE has the text set for small (or whatever size you want).

Also... What is your email reader? Some email programs utilize IE for displaying HTML email -- and they impose they text size on to IE the next time you open it...

Changed that View-Text size setting. Problem is it won't stick. Eventually it just goes back to medium.

There seems to be a correlation with opening Outlook2003. If I change the IE setting and open IE it holds until I open Outlook; then the text size goes back to medium. Any thoughts on how to fix this? TIA, J

    Re: Text Size (6.0.2800...)

To me, that implies that there is a font size setting in Outlook. Whenever you open Outlook, it changes the Default HTML font size setting for IE. That makes total sense.

Therefore, the solution to this should be some setting inside of Outlook. Since my version of Outlook is quite old, I cannot tell you where to find this setting.

    Re: Text Size (6.0.2800...)

This KB is one kicked around in NG's to fix the Outlook makes my IE font size smaller--I didn't find one explicitly listing 6 or OL 2003, so you might check it out--it lists for OL 2K and IE5 but often they apply to more than one version, Microsoft just doesn't get around to telling you that.

242984: Font Size Change Is Not Saved in Internet Explorer 5

    The fix:

In Outlook X Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Mail Format tab.
Under Stationery and Fonts, click Fonts, and then click International Fonts.
Select the font size that you want to use in Internet Explorer, click Set as Default, and then click OK until you can quit the program. The font size should no longer revert to the former default (medium) in Internet Explorer.

An alternative is to go to options on the IE toolbar>Accessibility Button> and put a check in the box "Ignore font size on all pages." I always do this and then I can use the Ctrl key and my mouse scroll button to rheostat my text size. About 3 times a year--a small percent much less than .0000000something I get a page with overlaping font because of what the web designer has done, and then I can take the check out for that page if I need to.

I always hate to open the Internet Options dialog box unless I have to. Awhile back I create this little Toggle that switches the "Ignore Fonts" setting -- and it's only a right-click away!

Did you make that customized addition to your RCC with a regedit? How did you do that?

There are people in the Lounge that can context these fonts and understand why a particular one would work, like International but I'm not one of them who can tell you why the KB has you opt for that. Glad it worked.

Thanks a lot and I'd like to see the text size recipe if you can put it up.
