    Problem getting out (IE 6)

I log into ISP it says I am connected but I cannot get out to the web. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere?

    Stephanie,

    Who's your ISP?
Is it dialup, DSL or Cable connection?
Probably the easiest way is to contact your ISP and have them go over your particular settings for that service.
Has this ever worked for you, or are you just setting up a new connection?
Can you send & receive Email and just not get to out to the web? OR both? <img src=/S/hmmn.gif border=0 alt=hmmn width=15 height=15>

It is dialup and worked fine before the laptop went in for repair. mindspring is the software, an older version of earthlink, moved recently so don't have the disk handy to reinstall for a fix.

You say you are connected. How are you connecting? Do you have a dial-up shortcut on your desktop, or are you launching the browser and having it launch the dial-up connection? It may be possible that the browser is not set up to use your dial-up connection, especially if you are launching the connection with a desktop shortcut. Go into IE and click on Tools, Options, click the Connections tab, and make sure your dial-up connection is selected there.
