Filename and Path Conundrum (Word 2000 902720)

I have a simple question that has probably been answered before...
How can I get the auto text "filename and path" to reflect the CURRENT name and location of the document, and not where it was created or last modified? So when you open the document, the filename and path would automagically updated itself...

Not all fields are updated automatically when you open a document. See MSKB article WD2000: Which Fields Are Updated When You Open, Repaginate, or Print Document? for an overview.

To update all fields, you need a macro. See MSKB article WD2000: How to Automatically Update Fields for example code.

As I recall, if you place the filename & path in the header/footer, it will automatically be updated when you open the file.

    Thank you very much!
This is just what I was looking for...
I wonder if Word 2003 will be the same?
