Using SendMail in Excel/Access with SR-1 (Outlook 2000 SR-1)

Is there a way to disable (or work-around) the security feature in Outlook 2000 SR-1 that alerts you (AND waits 10 seconds AND asks for approval) another program attempts to use Outllok to send an attachement? Prior to installing the patch, I had created an Excel macro that used the activeworksheet.sendmail object to generate hundreds of emails within my company. Now, having to wait and approve each email essentially negates any time saved by creating the macro in the first place. Very frustrating. Thanks.

    There are several options:

If you use Outlook with Exchange Server, the Exchange administrator can remove the restriction selectively: see Administrative Options for the Outlook E-mail Security Update.

You can install a free utility ClickYes. It sits in the notification area (aka system tray) and clicks Yes for you.

You can rewrite your code to use Extended MAPI. Since this can't be scripted, it doesn't need the draconic security measures. You can download a COM add-in that provides a wrapper about Extended MAPI: Outlook Redemption. It is free for development use; if you want to distribute it, you need a license.[/list]
