Copying a font from a template

I have a font I used on a template that I really like.

When I go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Fonts, it is not there.

Is there a way I can take the font from my Word template and put it in the font folder in my control panel so it will be an option for other documents?

If the font is not already in your fonts folder, it must be embedded in the template document. In that case it is unlikely that will be able to use it outside that particular template. Can you edit the template with that font?. Do you know the name of the font?. It might be possible to an equivalent version from one of the many font sites on the web.

The font works fine in the template, which is where it resides. The font is called "Georgia". It's no big deal of reloading it again. I was just wondering if it was possible to take the font from the template and add it to my other fonts.

    John,

I do not know of any method to strip an embedded font from a document. However in this case there is no need as you can get the Georgia true type from Microsoft Typography as a free download (I assume it is the same georgia).

Thanks for your assistance, Andrew. I guess this was a case of a bit of "Georgia on my mind".
