    MAC software search

Well, take two at a post that I thought was fairly innocuous and reasonable

You can download many games for free. See for example Tucows. Google should turn up more possibilities.

1994 model? Can you be a little more specific? Or at least can you give us a clue about which version of the OS it is running. I would guess 7.x but it could be a later version as well.
There are lots of freeware/shareware sites out there. One highly recommended is ambrosia"]http://www.ambrosiasw.com/news/">ambrosia[/url] These are all Shareware.

    Re: MAC software search

Sorry, should have also mentioned that I have to download using my main machine which is a WINDOWS platform as the mac is not connected to the net. Can a file be downloaded using windows for use on a Mac from the suggestions above?
Thanks again...sorry for missing this rather important bit of info :| !!!

    Re: MAC software search

Most modern Macs will be able to read any external media created on a PC. The opposite isn't always true. If you download a .sit file (equiv of a PC zip file) make sure that you have Stuffit (freeware] on the Mac to extract the file.

    Re: MAC software search

Thanks for the replies, but it's all too hard...you don't realise, despite our best efforts to avoid the obvious, how much "Bill G" has influenced our lives...until you try anything other that his product.

I should've know...the first VCR our family ever owned was a dud...everthing it did operationally was perfect and the format is STILL used by many major news providers... but, as the "Snake" from the "Simpson's" tells it best during an otherwise profitable larceny spree..."oh noooo...it's a Beta"

I still appreciate the feedback though, as always.

    Re: MAC software search

Sorry John, the Mac well, that bad - just too hard to figure out! I gave it away to someone else who understands how to use it, which made me feel good (& in return have picked up a P100 for gratis through another mate from work in return). Now the kids have got something to muck around with that I can actually understand!
Ah, I.T. - my last model before this was a P100, now I am struggling to keep up as I only have a PIII500. Oh a Pentium 4 would be nice.

Thanks to all for the offers and advice re the Mac's anyway. I think I mentioned before that we owned a Beta VCR way back in 1982. I guess the Macs are a bit the same...better in everything except popularity.
