Setting up a Domain (Windows XP Pro)

Have you ever had one of those days? I can't remember how to setup a domain in WinXP Pro. I would like to use a computer as a domain controller/server and the other one as a workstation. I would also like to setup the server so I can let certian people see certian files. For the life of me I cannot remember how to do this. Any help? Thank you,
    Rick

What software is the server running?

To join winxp to a workgroup, go to control panel, system and enter the workgroup information. Once the machines in the workgroup can see each other, you'll need to give permission to files.

Windows XP does not have a server version and a Windows XP system cannot be promoted to be a domain controller.

If you were running Windows 2000 then the command to convert a server to a domain controller is DCPROMO, but make sure you know what you are doing first, because it can be difficult to undo all the changes you may end up making.
